Bev Williams was the winner of a three-month pass to the Cariboo Memorial Complex after finishing first in the Biggest Loser — Cariboo Style program.

Williams donated her prize to Jenna Crandall, who was the third-place winner for the program.

And coming in a close second was Joan Doillard, who won a one-month pass to the Complex.

In total, the group of 25 who participated in this intake’s Biggest Loser program in September lost 252 pounds.

The Cariboo Memorial Complex has now co-ordinated four sessions of the Biggest Loser Cariboo Style that more than 100 people have participated in.

Fifty percent of the program’s graduates are still involved in physical activity.

This value-added program combines a three-month pass to the Complex, twice a week aerobic activities, support from a dietitian, once a week facilitating change session and a weekly weigh in/talk.

Gentle exercises start the physical activities and then kick boxing, spinning, nordic walking, aquasize classes and weight training are introduced.

“It was wonderful to taste various activities” and “I never thought I could feel this good” are comments from people that have completed this program.

The next session of the Biggest Loser — Cariboo Style is Jan. 24, 2011. Register by calling 250-398-7665.
