The Langley Blaze snapped a brief two-game losing streak, winning three times over the weekend.
The Blaze hammered the Abbotsford Cardinals 9-2 on Friday at Delair Park before returning to McLeod Park on Sunday, beating the Victoria Mariners 3-1 and 7-4, rallying for wins in both.
The victories move Langley back atop the B.C. Premier U18 Baseball League with a 12-3 record.
The Blaze trailed Abbotsford 2-1 after one inning and after taking a 3-2 lead in the third, blew the game open with six runs in the sixth for the 9-2 win.
Langley managed their nine runs on just three hits as the Cardinals pitchers struggled with control, walking 10 Blaze batters.
Hayden Jaco drove in three runs while Kyle Ross struck out 10 over five innings for the victory.
The Blaze made it two in a row, scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Victoria 3-1.
Dayton Wilson scored Jaron Jeske with an RBI double and then Wilson scored the insurance run on a Tony Pharand sacrifice fly.
Kristjan Storrie had the other Langley RBI, belting a second inning solo home run.
Cooper Misic pitched seven innings, striking out six and allowing just one run and four hits.
The rematch saw Victoria up 3-1 into the bottom of the fourth inning before Langley scored three in the fourth and three more in the sixth for the 7-4 win.
Connor Chorpita had a two-run triple and three RBIs while Storrie had a two-run double.
Yi-Fan Pan and Jesse Unger had the other RBIs.
Markus Gregson earned the win, coming on to pitch the final three innings.
Langley visits the Whalley Chiefs (7-10) on May 12 before returning to McLeod Park for a doubleheader against the Coquitlam Reds (4-12) on May 16 (2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.).
