Bowlers chase cash

The 16th annual Funtastic Mixed Triples Lawn Bowling Tournament went over the weekend with teams winning $1,200 in prizes.

The 16th annual Funtastic Mixed Triples Lawn Bowling Tournament was fun-natured until teams advanced from the round-robin stage and fixated their eyes on the $1,200 prize.

A total of 20 teams competed at the  Vernon Lawn Bowling Club in one of the the most prestigious events in the Interior Division of Bowls B.C.

Team Perkins captured division A and were led by their skip Doug Perkins with Dawn Perkins and Don Hunter.

The runner-up in division A was team Stirling from the Kelowna LBC. They were comprised of Alan Stirling, Shannon Bliss and Lila Schwarz.

The Tennants of Kamloops Riverside LBC captured division B. They were made up of Bud Tennant, Alice Tennant and Bob Gamble.

Finishing second in the B side was team Clarke from Vernon LBC. Skipper John Clarke was joined by Jean Clarke and Don Wiggans.

Team Bosse of Kamloops McArthur Island took the division C title. Rheal Bosse was joined by Pam Bosse and Ron Bell.

Placing second in division C were the Nesteds of Penticton. Their skip, Bryan Nested, was accompanied by Eunice Mielke and Marg Dionne.

John McKay led his McKay team of Vernon to the division D title alongside Bill Aldag and Christine Pilgrim.

Right behind team McKay was team Clary of Kamloops Riverside, with Bruce Clary, Jenny Commazzeto and Ross Perkin.

Team Brown of Kamloops Riverside won division E. The team featured Morley Brown, Jean Hamn and Karen Brown.

Runners-up in the E division was the Trotter team of Vernon, with Lance Trotter, Lily Holmes and Maurice Ball. Special thanks goes out to the greens supervisor, Don Whitnack, along with his crew of volunteers, in addition to the balance of the club members who contributed to the success of this tournament.
