A pair of recent tournaments at Duncan Lanes have kept Cowichan Valley bowlers rolling.
On Dec. 3, the Mid Vancouver Island Tenpin Association held its annual adult/youth tournament. Nicole Caunt and her niece Sydney Greenwood teamed up to win the tournament with a score of 1,537 over three games, finishing ahead of Bob Linde and Aden Nettleton, who scored 1,514, with Linde putting up his best-ever lefthanded series of 706.
In third place were Lance Doucet and Brandon Clark (1,421), followed by Peter Guillon and Dylan Marsden (1,417). The adults on the top four teams won cash and the kids won gift cards.
On Nov. 27, Duncan Lanes hosted the Tenpin Grey Cup Singles tournament, which was dominated by graduates of the Cowichan Valley High School Bowling Program, which Linde leads.
High school program alumnus Tyler Murchie finished first with a score of 2,588 over 10 games, and fellow alumni Jaimie Orchin and Kain Stewart were fourth and fifth at 2,458 and 2,404, respectively. In second place was Michelle Konkie (2,558) and Abhi Gogol (2465) placed third.
