Many thought it was all over after five unanswered goals by Fraser Valley in the first period during the bronze medal box lacrosse game at ARC at the Abbotsford 2016 BC Summer Games.

Fraser Valley got on the board with goals from Aiden Murphy (two), Steve Archachan, Jaxon Hendrickson and Tynan Shatzko.

Vancouver-Coastal added two goals each in the second by Vancouver’s Jared Moloci and Haiden Dicksonm, while Fraser Valley’s Jordan Daniel and Joel Lachapelle added to their team’s lead.

The third period was loaded with goals, with eight scored in total. Three in a row by Vancouver’s Haiden Dickson followed by Jackson Eggert and another by Dickson to tie the game at seven each.

Jake Cantlon put Vancouver ahead but Gavin Bruce tied it up again for the Valley.   8-8. Cantlon scored his second and winning goal to secure the bronze medal for Vancouver Coastal, who won 9-8

Jason Bishop coach of Vancouver Coastal had nothing but praise for his team.

“They showed lots of character out there – My good news bears” he said. “Haiden Dickson had a great game [five goals] and both our goalies held us in there.”
