Boys and Girls Club golf tourney goes Friday, May 29

Annual fundraiser features fun, games and prizes at Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community

The Boys and Girls Club Central Vancouver Island (BGCCVI) invites all golfers, used-to-be golfers and wanna-be golfers to dust off the clubs, practise their swing and enjoy a “hole lot o’ fun” at their 13th annual Golf Tournament at Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community on Friday, May 29.

This is one of the organization’s major fundraising initiatives, and there’s still time to form a team with friends, co-workers or treat your favourite clients. Your participation supports valuable community services provided by BGCCVI including parenting resources, licensed child care, after school programs, and summer camps in the Comox Valley.

No previous golfing experience is required! It’s an entertaining day for golfers of all skill levels.

“The sponsorships for this exciting event have been sold out. We’re absolutely thrilled by this year’s support,” says BGCCVI director and event coordinator Robin Smart. “It’s helped us to plan some really fun activities throughout the course so there are lots of opportunities for socializing and getting to know other people in the community.”

Registration begins at 11 a.m. and costs $125 per golfer, or $500 per team. The registration fee includes your cart, dinner, and an evening of entertainment to follow MCed by former city councillor Jon Ambler and Dave Tymo from 98.9 The Goat.

There are lots of amazing auction items and hole activity prizes to be won including two tickets anywhere WestJet flies, a romantic staycation package, a kid’s dream day package, and loaded wine fridge. A hole in one could even win you a trip to Hawaii, a trip to the Masters, $10,000 and more.

To register in advance, call 250-218-0904 or email rsmart@bgccvi.com. For more info, visit the BGCCVI website at bgccvi.com
