The Midget Tier 1 Braves hockey team pulled off the “four-peat,” winning the Island title for the fourth consecutive year Saturday.

The team of 15- to 17-year-olds from Oak Bay, Saanich, Victoria and Esquimalt, won the best-of-three Island championships on the road with a 3-1 finish against the Comox Chiefs.

While Comox opened scoring, the Braves answered with three of their own, with two from Thomas Brandwood and one from Blake Bentham.

Coached by Ian Birnie, the win sends the Braves to the B.C. Championship March 19 to 23 in Prince George where the players will test their mettle against the top Midget teams in the province.
