Breakers’ quick start

The Ravensong Breakers Swim Club had an outstanding first meet of the season Oct. 25-26.

The Ravensong Breakers Swim Club had an outstanding first meet of the season Oct. 25-26.

Held at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, the Breakers made their mark on the Nanaimo Fall Invitational as a group. Out of the 250 swimmers in attendance, 25 were Breakers and they came away with some great personal finishes.

Nine-year-old Camryn Stannard finished in first place in her 10 and under age group in all eight events she entered.

Nicholas Bennett, age 10, had three finishes in second and three in third.

Tyson Krieger, also 10, finished in third in the 100-meter backstroke.

Ben Roberts, 11, finished in second in the 50-meter backstroke.

Jack Confortin, 13, had a first place finish in the 400-meter freestyle, second in the 200-meter individual medley and four third place finishes.

Joanna Redenbach, 14, had five first place finishes and two second place finishes.

Megan Romkes, 15, had two second place finishes in the 200-meter individual medley and the 100-meter fly.

Jenna Horton, a first year swimmer with the club, had a strong showing at her first ever meet as well.
