The Brick House Betties roller derby team plays its only home game June 2 at the Comox Valley Sports Centre, Arena 1. They host the Harbour City Shiprex of Nanaimo, whom the Betties beat by just a few points last season. Game time is 7 p.m.
Local junior derby team, the Stone Cold Stellas, will host an exhibition scrimmage beforehand. Come early (6 p.m.) to see young skaters develop their skills on the derby track.
Sports Centre doors open for this family-friendly event at 5:30 p.m. Entry is $5 cash at the door. Children under 10 get in free. There will be a concession, merchandise, a 50/50 draw and half-time entertainment by Roller Skate Victoria, a crew of roller dancers.
