Upper Island Riptide soccer development co-ordinator Shel Brodsgaard has been selected by Generation Adidas to be a guest coach Aug. 17-26 in Lyon, France.
The trip includes six training sessions with Olympique Lyonnais coaches, two friendly games, and a professional game between Marseilles and Lyon.
“The tour will provide me with an opportunity to observe training from one of the top female professional clubs in the world, and learn new ways to train and educate Riptide players and coaches,” Brodsgaard said. “There are 16 players who have been selected from across Canada to make the trip.”
This is the second year an individual from the Riptide has been selected to travel to Europe. Last year, Nathan Chowder travelled to Real Madrid.
