The Burrards won the top division of the B.C. Lacrosse Association U-11 boys field lacrosse provincial invitational tournament.

The Ridge Meadows Burrards won the top division of the B.C. Lacrosse Association U-11 boys field lacrosse provincial invitational tournament.

The event featured 22 teams from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland region, and was held at the Coquitlam Town Centre Sports Complex over the weekend.

The teams competed in three divisions, and in the Burrards first team won the Blue Division, as they outlasted the New Westminster Salmonbellies 7-5 in the final game.

The hometown Coquitlam Adanacs beat the Langley Thunder 8-6 to win bronze.

The tournament also featured individual honours, and Warrior Fair Play Awards were given to deserving players from each team.

Greyson Beggs was the winner from the Burrards first team, Nathan Johnson won for Ridge Meadows 2, and Hannah Bonifazi won for the Ridge Meadows 3 team.

The Ridge Meadows 1 team came through the tournament undefeated, with their only blemish being an 8-8 tie with New West in their tournament opener. That was followed by wins over Coquitlam 11-8, Langley 5-3, Nanaimo 12-0 and Surrey 7-1.

The Burrards 2 team lost all four of its games.

The Burrards 3 team finished with two wins and two losses, and then lost to Delta in the bronze medal for the White Division by a 2-0 score.
