Vernon Buy Low Foods Uprising U16B celebrated their final ringette game of the season with a 9-4 win over Westside U16A.

Vernon Buy Low Foods Uprising U16B celebrated their final ringette game of the season with a 9-4 win over Westside U16A.

Maddy Johnson was spectacular in goal for the Uprising, while Anastasia Pelletier had three goals.

Rebecca VanEyck had 2+2 in the win while Darian Newman had 2+1 and Amy Parsons also added a pair of goals.

Mikayla Vanderzwan had a pair of assists for Vernon.

In U12 action at the Shaw Centre, Vernon Advertising Works Victory earned a 7-3 decision over the Shuswap Petites.

Grace Cornell had the hat trick for the Victory, while Jaden Scott added a deuce. Kristin Ho and Bryn Korol rounded out the offence in front of a solid Kaila Summerfelt.

The Vernon DCT Chambers Roar tied  Kelowna 10-10 tie in Petite action.

Georgia Lannon (4+1), Ashly Shwaluk (3+3), Sierra Lochhead (1+1), Julie Francis (1G), Shaila Austin (1 goal) and Liam Van Wyk (3A) led the Roar’s offence.

Great hustle was provided by Amy Demetrick and Hilary Quiring while Chayse Krause and Jasmine Horton provided strong defence in front of a bold Brooklyn Ashby.

Vernon’s Novice Ice Dragons dominated the Westside Timber Wolves 7-2 Saturday.

Sasha Austin was outstanding in goal with superb defensive help from Miah Cohen and Shaila Austin, Astrid Beaty and Rhys Taylor-Hawes, who chipped in a goal.

Brooklyn Lewis had two goals, both assisted by Sadie Christensen, while Brianna Visser also added a pair. Sierra Fernley and Jaya Chauhan each chipped in 1+1. Amelia Johnson also had two assists.

There was no ring luck for the Vernon Ice Rockets, who dropped a 5-3 Novice Division game to Salmon Arm.

The Ice Rockets hit two cross bars and three goalposts in the loss.

Aimee Skinner, with a pair, and Kristen Francks scored for the Ice Rockets with Caryss Hill and Alecia Hughes pocketing assists. Superstar goalie Katrina Winstanley kept the score close with numerous outstanding saves.
