Regular golf

July 31 Sunnydale Ladies golf was a glorious day with a breeze blowing to make things nice.

We had a good turnout and so did the nine-hole girls. These ladies were playing for the Jeanette Morneau Trophy and the winner was Sherry Harrison. Low putter was Louise Smiley. Honourable mention for low gross goes to Lorraine Clark and second for low putts was Ardene Larison.

Next week some of the nine-hole girls will join the 18-hole girls for Janice Cowies Memorial Day which is a fun day. All kinds of things are planned and all monies raised go to the breast cancer fund, so bring money and be ready to have a good time and to remember Janice.

This week we played for the Susan Westbrook two-ball trophy and there were some good scores. First low net was Fran Gibson and Belle Brown with a 70.5.

Second was Lois Pynn and Teri Sleigh with 74, third Jane Keoughan and Vickie Bombini with 74.5. Fourth Carolyn Walker and Anna Butler with 75 and Fran Shaw and Sandra Gallaway with 75.

Fifth net Lois Westbrook and Blod Crookshank with 76. Sixth Norma Rankin and Grace Rodriguez at 77.

Be sure and sign up for Janice Cowies Memorial next week; there will be lots of extra goodies. Also get your entries in for the Tillicum.
