Calling all ‘all-stars’ for Vistas run

The annual Vistas 10k run, 5k run/walk, and 4k Family Walk through Kanaka Creek Regional Park is coming up on Sunday, May 4.

The annual Vistas 10k run, 5k run/walk, and 4k Family Walk through Kanaka Creek Regional Park in Maple Ridge is coming up on Sunday, May 4.

The run is the single largest fundraiser for the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society and has, in total, raised over $300,000 for hospice care in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows over 17 years.

The Vistas Run-Walk draws runners and walkers from across the Lower Mainland who participate year after year in support of the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society.

New to the event is the addition of the 4K Family Walk for participants of all ages. Strollers and leashed pets are welcome on the route.

The Vistas Run-Walk also welcomes All-Stars on all routes.  For those who wish to raise pledges on behalf of the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society, typically, All-Stars will collect pledges of $500 or more and receive special incentives.   Over the past eight years, community leaders have made valuable contributions to hospice care by participating in the Vistas Run-Walk as an All-Star.

There will be refreshments and a DJ on site to get participants warmed up and off to an energized start. Runners and walkers will be supported on the course with water and first aid stations.

To get started as an All-Star, contact Kathryn Shiratti, at the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society, at 604-463-7722, or email at kathryn@ridgemeadowshospice.org.
