Calling all cyclists

-

Take part in the Gold Rush Cycling Club’s 82 km bike ride from Quesnel to Wells, Aug. 13.

En route riders will climb a total of 726 meters, fall in love with the scenery and probably want to move to the Cariboo.

Eighty-two km too far? Then do the Caribou Calf from Troll Ski Resort to Wells, which is only half the distance.

Along the way is a support car with first aid and bike maintenance.

There will also be rest stops with refreshments and crummies for participants.

Once in Wells you will be greeted by the colourful locals in this friendly Mountain town.

After a tally of what funds were raised for Mountain Caribou and give out some well deserved rewards you can choose to take the free shuttle back to town or make it an adventure and spend the night at a fine motel or campsite, and maybe even choose to ride back to the Gold Pan City after your stay.

Or check out the 35 km Barkerville Boneshaker Mountain Bike Race on some the scenic and historic trails around Wells and Barkerville, Aug. 14.
