Campbell River Storm re-acquire gritty winger

The Campbell River Storm Junior Hockey Club has re-acquired 1996 born forward Christian Brandt

The Campbell River Storm Junior Hockey Club has re-acquired 1996 born forward Christian Brandt from the Kerry Park Islanders in exchange for future considerations.

The 6’1”, 185 pound left winger started last season with the Storm but was traded to the Westshore Wolves midway through the season. His rights were then acquired by Kerry Park after the playoffs ended.

“We are thrilled to bring Christian back into the Storm family,” said Storm head coach and general manager Lee Stone. “We worked hard to recruit him to join the Storm last season and he had instant success. Unfortunately, he wanted to be closer to his family at the time. He’s ready to come back to Campbell River now and work towards his goal of a college scholarship. With some of the punch we are losing up front, having Christian’s nose for the net will be a fantastic plus for our team on the ice. His ‘team first’ personality will be great for our club off the ice and in the dressing room.”

Brandt, who is originally from Duncan, played two seasons at Okanagan Hockey Academy before joining the Storm last September. As a VIJHL rookie he finished the regular season with 42 points in 42 games, including 20 goals.
