Canadians salvage weekend tie

Vernon Canadians capped a weekend doubleheader with a 7-7 draw against the Penticton Tigers in Bantam AA minor baseball action.

Vernon Canadians capped a weekend doubleheader with a 7-7 draw against the Penticton Tigers in Bantam AA minor baseball action.

The Canadian bowed 12-4 in the opening tilt, with Franky Beg pitching two solid innings.

The Tigers came out strong at the plate, earning three runs early. The Canadians’ tough defence came through with Jordy Griffiths and Kyle Ciurka shutting down the side. Jake Emmons was a vacuum on first base.

Ty Wellman made a circus catch at centrefield in the second game to hold Penticton runners at bay.

Jake Holland and Brayden Damini shared double duties behind the plate and on the mound, tossing four great innings apiece. Kyle Dennis was all over right field, Dylan Emmons went 4-for-6 at the dish, driving in three runs.
