The Cariboo Canucks went undefeated and claimed the 23rd Annual Alkali Braves Hockey Tournament title recently in Williams Lake.
The Canucks downed the Stone T-Birds Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Cariboo Memorial Complex, 7-2, to capture the crown.
The eight-team tournament featured teams from around the region along with Hun City and Fort St. James.
Canucks head coach Cecil Grinder said the tournament was competitive and a lot of fun.
“They [the T-Birds] almost came back on us in the Sunday morning semi,” Grinder said. “It was a good tournament. We all saw some people we haven’t seen for a while.”
Finishing in third place were the Fort St. James Junior Chiefs.
Canucks player Drew Rose was named defensive all-star while Anthony Sellars got the nod for most valuable forward.
