Six combined teams were looking to escape from behind the eight ball to claim the title for the 8-Ball League doubles playoff finals.

The league, which plays out of various venues throughout the season, hosts a singles season from September until December before the doubles league began in January.

March 25, beginning at noon, teams were battling for top spot in the league before Diamonds and Dust repeated once again to take home first place. In second was the Oliver Demons, while the Legion Angels placed third.

On Diamonds and Dust were the combined duos of Evelyna Bowe/Derrick Cooper, Guy Bowe/Orenda Gilbert, Dustin Hinksman/Wendy Alphonse, Evans Billyboy/Brandi Phillips and Skylar Bowe/Kristy Palmantier.

Oliver Demons members included Pat Heigh/Jan Keener, Nick Surette/Rhonda Surette, Paul Jenkins/Janice Fairburn, Tracey Merriam/Vivian McKay and Kelsey Kirechuk/Donna LeBlanc.

Third-place players were John Halfnights/Sheena Solomon, Edna Boston/Ross Sipes, Jackie Laflamme/Dale Craige, Michelle Noskey/Jeff Zimmerlee and Jack Archie/Shar MacMurchy.

Ladies’ singles teams include the Legion Angels, Legion Dames, OV Stars, OV Babes, D&D Chilli Peppers and the Oliver She-Devils, while on the men’s side the Legion Lords, Legion Knights, OV Boomers, OV Sharks, D&D Bus Drivers and Oliver Demons compete.

On March 25, the league also held its nominations for the new executive where Cheryl Chapman was elected president, Jake Archie was named first vice-president, Edna Boston will continue her roles keeping statistics and as the league secretary and Shar MacMurchy will be the league treasurer.

Additionally, on April 8, the league will be hosting a banquet at the Overlander Pub where season awards and prizes will be presented.
