Castlegar golfer Al Cummings is one off the lead after round one of the Special Olympics Canada National Golf Tournament at the University Golf Club in Vancouver.
Cummings fired a 55 (+19 over nine holes) and leads in scoring on the par-three holes. He made par on both the 124-yard 11th and 110-yard 16th in yesterday’s round.
The M2 division that Cummings is in has an eight-man field with players from B.C., N.S., Sask. and Ont.
There is currently a three-way tie for the lead, with Jonathan Bolger and Matthew Borkowski of Ont. at +18 with Saskatchewan’s Joshua Bailey.
Cummings tee time Friday in the three-round event is 11:50 a.m.
