The Castlegar Midget Rep Rebels held their home tournament this past weekend at the Castlegar Complex.

The team opened the tournament with a close 5-4 win over Elk Valley. The Rebs followed that up with a tough 1-0 loss to a Westside team that would go on to win the tournament.

Castlegar another close one, this time to Tri-Cities 5-4. The guys wrapped up the tournament with a strong 5-1 win over a Spokane team that they had not beaten before.

“It was a good indication of how much the team has improved,” said head coach Grant Pilla. “I was very happy with our team’s effort this weekend. The boys have really started to gel and have come a long way since the beginning of the year.”

Pilla says it was full team effort and everyone chipped in to make the tournament a success.

“Once again, I am proud of our boys and how they represented themselves and our community this weekend and am very thankful for the effort and committment shown by the parents to make the tournament such a success,” he said.
