The Castlegar Pink Predators and Rossland (Cartwheeling) Shooting Stars* U11 girls soccer teams enjoyed perfect soccer weather at Twin Rivers Park in Castlegar on Wednesday, May 15.
Slightly overcast skies and a light breeze meant the girls had plenty of energy and played at a brisk pace for the 50-minute matchup.
Despite several scoring chances by speedy Rossland player Yasmine Evans, the game ended in a 2-2 tie thanks to good goaltending on both sides of the field.
* Rossland team name unofficial but, yes, they can all cartwheel and frequently did so. To the point where coach Bernie Hofmann had to remind some girls to save some energy for the field.
