The Little Tex Outlaws and North Enderby Timber Celtics went hard and solved nothing Tuesday night at Marshall Field #3.

The North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Division 1 teams displayed stellar skill and speed in an entertaining scoreless draw.

Steath-running Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldog Paige Doherty thought she had given NET the lead in the first half but she was called for a shoulder rub after she turned keeper Eileen Fox after colliding with a defender.

The Celtics (4-4-2) controlled most of the first half with great build up only to be shut down by Fox.

True grit was shown from Celtic newcomers Tanya and Kirman Nijjar, sacrificing their bodies countless times for the team. The NET midfield and defence were exceptional in containing phenom Kira Lee. Heidi Holtmann had a stellar showing at centre defence.

The Outlaws (5-1-4) enjoyed several chances, but couldn’t beat the Celtics’ acrobatic, all-star keeper Charmaine Biagioni, a University of Fraser Valley Cascades’ grad.

The Little Tex Lady of the Match went to Stephanie Conti for her tireless play on the back line, stopping many scoring opportunities for the Celtics.

Fellow defenders Jordan Mercer, Cayla Brown, Kristy Anderson and Stacey Cover worked hard all night. Sarah Strobila set up some sweet plays, while Lisa Stewart and Maria Thorlakson ran miles in the midfield.

Clarke sparks Blazers to road draw

The AF Blazers battled Glenn Power Contracting to a 3-3 draw in a back-and-forth affair at Blackburn Park in Salmon Arm.

The Blazers gave up an early goal before Shantell Hayhurst converted a cross from Ali Clarke.

Clarke then scored on a partial breakaway to put the Blazers up by a goal. Glenn Power replied late in the first to level things 2-2.

Glenn Power took the lead midway through the second but Clarke collected a goal kick from keeper Katie Hatten and scored from 20 yards to equalize with 10 minutes remaining.

The Blazers (4-4-2) pushed for the winning goal, but were unable to convert on consecutive late corners.

In her last game before returning to her native Germany, Jeruscha Bahmuller joined Jane Sutton and Hailey Woon in magic midfield showings.

Amber Maltman was a rock star on the Blazer defence, clearing several balls during goal-mouth scrambles. With most of their regular defensive line away, Jenny Hatten, Nicole Stensrude and Valentina Correale did an excellent job filling in.

Dr. Lee’s shut down Wrap Zone 5-0

First-place Dr. Lee’s Dental started off slow against the much-improved Wrap Zone before posting a 5-0 win at Marshall #5.

The Floss crew went up 1-0 at the half on an own-goal off an Irene Arrotta deflection that hit a defender.

Silver Star Mountain Resort Lady of the match Jenessa Moore dominated the second half, scoring twice and setting up two others as dad Mike watched from the sidelines.

Moments later, roadrunner Sherry Wiebe, inspired by Whitecap Kenny Miller’s recent goals, went on a breakaway and buried an untouchable blast.

Birthday girl Andrea Zubot later put a through ball to Neudorf, who belted one in across the front of the Merlot keeper and into the far side for a 3-0 halftime lead.
