The over-65 women’s and men’s slo-pitch teams will again battle for diamond supremancy in the fourth annual Challenge Cup.
The Mamas versus Papas game will be held on July 28 at 11 a.m. at the ballfield in Parksville Community Park.
“Over the last four years the gals have won this event three times to the guys’ one,” said Randy White, organizer of the event. “Bring your lawn chair and watch the excitement. These seniors are very good ballplayers and the guys are practising hard to break their command of the game.”

After the long COVID-19 restrictions that have kept them from playing ball, these two teams are anxious to compete and show their skills.
“This is the most competitive game of the year for seniors in Parksville,” said White. “Players are selected from 10 teams to compete so you just know the quality of ball you are going to watch.”
