They entered the game as the defending nine-man B.C. provincial champions and held on to their tile after defeating the Richmond Raiders.

The Chargers secured their second Vancouver Mainland Football League championship and provincial championship by defeating Richmond 24-14 on Sunday at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops.

The Chargers struggled against the Raiders in their two previous regular season meetings. Heading into the final, the Raiders were the undisputed favourites as they went undefeated throughout the regular season and playoffs.

Star tailback Trystan Kenoras led the offensive output as he ran away with the game for the Chargers, scoring three rushing touchdowns, while a solid team defence backed the play. Dayton Massey of the Chargers won most sportsmanlike player in the contest, while Dawson House received the most valuable player honours.
