Playoffs ended in three sets for the Camosun Chargers women’s volleyball team on Thursday, Feb.– 24. In the quarterfinal, opening game of the B.C. College’s Athletic Association playoffs, the Chargers fell to the Fraser Valley Cascades 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-20).
The Cascades suffered a 3-0 loss the following day, swept by the host UBC-Okanagan Heat, who went on to win the provincial championship over Nanaimo’s Vancouver Island University Mariners in Saturday’s final. UBC-O Heat won the men’s championship as well.
Prior to the Chargers’ only match, rookies Suzanna Campbell and Elizabeth Davis were given their awards. Campbell (Penticton) made the all-rookie team as did Davis (Glenlyon Norfolk), who was named BCCAA 2nd Team All-Star and Rookie of the Year. Campbell was named Camosun’s player of the match, with 17 assists, five digs.
