Chick Kickers dismantle Setters Pub

The Chick Kickers ambushed Salmon Arm Setters Pub 7-0 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer.

The Chick Kickers ambushed Salmon Arm Setters Pub 7-0 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Masters Division play Tuesday night in Salmon Arm.

Both teams were short on numbers, as Setters Pub (0-7-1) had six regulars injured and the Kickers  (7-1-1) played without subs. Robyn  Sherwood picked up the shutout.

Dr. Lee downs Controllers

Dr. Lee/Squires Four Pub blanked the Controllers 5-0 at Marshall Field #5.

Irene Arrotta sniped a deuce for Dr. Lee (8-0-1), with singles going to Jill Rintoul, Leah Frye and Deanna Baker.

Sarah Green was stellar at centre defence and Lisa Arrotta recorded another shutout.

Leslie Epp made some great saves in her first game in net for the Controllers (5-3-1).

Sistas freeze Rosters

The Okanagan Season Sistas stopped Rosters 3-0 at Marshall Field #1.

Andy Zubot opened the scoring for the Sistas (4-5) with a left-footed strike from 25 yards. Diane Neudorf registered the winner in the first half and Sherry Wiebe picked up some insurance as she booted home her own rebound.

Wendy Nadeau earned her first shutout of the season. Rosters dropped to 1-8.

Blazers torch Outlaws

The AF Blazers toppled the Little Tex Outlaws 5-1 in Division 1 soccer action at Marshall Field #4.

Kirmen Nijjar ripped a pair of goals for the Blazers (3-4-2), while Carissa Stanek, Shantell Hayhurst and Hailey Woon added singles.

Woon and Hayhurst played their best games of the season, along with the Nijjar, sisters Kirmen and Tanya.

Jen Knopp won a battle for a loose ball and found the back of the net from 25 yards for the Outlaws (0-4-4).

Salmon Arm squashes Celtics

Glenn Powers clipped the NET Celtics 3-1 at MacDonald Park.

Salmon Arm (7-0-1) scored a pair of goals that tipped off the Celtic keeper’s fingertips in the first half.

The Celtics (1-3-5) came out in the second half with blazing speed from Arayana Jacura, Emily Keeley and Paige Doherty up front.

Doherty ruined the shutout on a breakaway, shooting far side.
