Chiefs beat Posse to take 3-1 lead in KIJHL playoff series

Kelowna moves to within a win of Okanagan Division title and a berth in the league semifinals

Shayne Walker scored a goal and added two assists to help push the Kelowna Chiefs past the Princeton Posse 5-2 on Saturday night at Rutland Arena in Game 4 of KIJHL’s Okanagan Division final.

The Chiefs, who lead the best-of-seven second-round playoff series 3-1, are now a win away from advancing to the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference final.

Game 5 will be played Monday in Princeton, with Game 6, if needed back in Kelowna on Tuesday.

Josh McEwan added a goal and an assist for the Chiefs, with Jordan Salahor and Kyle Clerke scoring the others. P.J. Lawler had two assists and Tyler O’Donnell stopped 22 shots for the win.

On Friday, the Chiefs won 3-2 on Landon Andrusiak’s game winner at 19:44 of the first overtime period.
