Kelowna Rockets forward Calvin Thurkauf scored twice in an overtime loss Friday to the Spokane Chiefs.

Kailer Yamamoto scored at 1:01 of overtime to lead the Spokane Chiefs to a 5-4 win over the Kelowna Rockets Friday in WHL action at Prospera Place.

Calvin Thurkauf scored twice for the Rockets (33-20-5-0) who saw a three-game winning streak come to an end.

Thurkauf’s second of the game and 29th of the season, with just 1:06 remaining in the third period forced overtime.

Nolan Foote and Nick Merkley also scored for the Rockets who overcame a 3-0 deficit.

With the loss, the Rockets slip five points back of the Kamloops Blazers for second spot in the B.C. Division. The Blazers defeated Vancouver 6-1 on Friday.

On Saturday, the Rockets will host the division-leading Prince George Cougars. Face off is 7:05 p.m.
