The Chilliwack Chiefs announced a small trade Monday afternoon.
Forward Jacob Slipec has been shipped off to the Powell River Kings in exchange for future considerations.
It was a move that was expected. The gritty 18 year old forward was struggling to find ice time in the deep Chilliwack lineup and may have better luck with the Kings.
The White Rock product produced two goals, 11 points and 62 penalty minutes in 59 regular season and playoff games for the Chiefs.
“Thank you, Jacob, for all your hard work on the ice and in the community,” said Chiefs associate head coach/general manager Brad Rihela. “Good luck in Powell River!”
Slipec doesn’t need to go far to join his new team.
The Kings will be in Chilliwack this week for Bauer BCHL Showcase Festival games against Victoria (Wednesday) and Langley (Thursday).
