Chilliwack’s Jordyn Huitema strikes again with another UEFA Champions League goal

Huitema scored once in Paris St-Germain's 6-1 route of Polish side Górnik Leczna in the Round of 32

Jordyn Huitema scored another goal for Paris St-Germain Wednesday as they crushed Górnik Leczna (Poland) 6-1 in UEFA Women’s Champions League play.

It was the second game in a week between the two clubs, with Huitema’s side taking both by a combined scored of 8-1.

The match was played at the Stade Municipal Georges Lefèvre.

Huitema’s teammate, Nadia Nadim, opened the scoring at the 21 minute mark. Huitema set it up with a header at the top of the box. The ball dropped at Nadim’s feet at the top of the 18 yard box and she put a shot over the keeper and under the cross bar for a 1-0 lead.

Three minutes later, Marie-Antoinette Katoto delivered a pass into the box from the left side. Standing uncovered in front of the keeper, Huitema had a left-footed tap-in (see 1:40 mark in video below).

It was her second goal of Champions League play. The 19-year-old striker scored the winner in Paris St-Germain’s 2-0 triumph last week.

Huitema’s crew led 4-0 at halftime and cruised to the win, advancing to the Round of 16.

The draw for that round will take place Feb. 16 and Round of 16 games will be played in March.
