Chimo gymnast Lauren Carr took first-place overall in the Novice Level 2 category at Twisters Invitational Meet in Abbotsford with first place on both the vault and floor events.

Teammate Josee Jalbert had her best meet this season with two podium finishes, achieving second place on bars and third place on balance beam.  Rounding out this Level 2 Novice group was Isabella Pelletier who placed eighth on floor in this very competitive category.

Tyro Level 2 gymnast Sophia Mossie tied for fourth on bars coming in a respectable eighth overall and Maiah Tanner finished 17th in a large category.  Open Level 2 competitor Caitlin Tatham was second on bars finishing third overall.

Level 3 Novice Sawyer Sturam was third on vault and floor to take seventh place overall. In that same category, Ally Olson competed for the first time this year after recovering from an injury to achieve fifth on bars and 10h place overall. Teammate Kaylee Guignard was not able to compete due to an injury.

Chimo’s highest-level gymnast, Open Level 4 Katie Symonds, finished the competition in third place overall.  “All of the athletes’ hard work in training is paying off as each gymnast strives for her personal best. Encouragement from coaches and fellow teammates is always a positive driving force in this competitive environment,” a club spokesperson said.
