Campbell River Christian School volleyball has strong showing at tournament

The Campbell River Christian School won the bronze at a recent seniors girls volleyball tournament.

The team won both sets versus Lion’s Gate, by scores of 25-13 and 25-6, followed by two wins, both by 25-7 scores, against GISS Junior Team. The Christian School won its last match of round robin play in two sets, with a 25-18 and a 25-13 win against Cowichan.

Going undefeated in the round robin, Christian School earned a first place finish in its pool and advanced to the top eight teams.

On Saturday the team beat Unity in two sets, 25-11 and 25-20.

After dropping two sets to Credo (27-25 and 15-12) and winning one (25-15), Christian School found itself in the bronze medal match.

The team won both sets against ADSS by scores of 25-16 and 25-10 to secure the bronze.

The Christian School senior girls are currently ranked eighth in the province for single A schools.

The Island Championships are in two weeks in Lake Cowichan.

The Junior Boys Volleyball team placed fourth at North Zones at Timberline, advancing to North Islands at Ballenas this weekend.
