The Third Annual Clark Classic soccer tournament goes this Saturday, July 14 at the Esler Sports Complex.

The tournament, named after longtime community soccer coach, co-ordinator, referee, enthusiast and mentor, Clark Glanville, will see teams of at least 10 players go at it in seven-a-side action.

“Clark is very honoured to have this tournament in his name,” said tournament organizer Andrea Gustafson. “Clark’s long-term dedication to soccer in Williams Lake has influenced and shaped many soccer players.”

This year’s theme is Battle of the Bands, and players are asked to come prepared.

All proceeds from this year’s tournament are being donated to the families of Rayel MacDonald and Alysha Mullett.

Games start at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day, wrapping up in the evening with dinner and prize draws at the Overlander Pub.

Registration cost is $200 per team, which must be completed by Thursday, July 12.

Entry forms are available at Caribou Ski Source for Sports or by e-mailing Gustafson at andreagustafson@hotmail.com.

Anyone without a team but interested in playing is also asked to contact Gustafson.
