Clary clutch for Monashee

Monashee Surveying doubled Davidson Dynamite 4-2 in North Okanagan Men’s Soccer League action Wednesday night at Marshall Field #5.

Cam Clary collected a pair of goals to lift Monashee Surveying to a 4-2 win over Davidson Dynamite in North Okanagan Men’s Soccer League action Wednesday night at Marshall Field #5.

Monashee opened with a pair of early goals after good runs by Clary and Shawn Aarsen. Davidson tied it up late in the first half after some defensive miscues in the surveyor’s zone.

Early in the second half, Monashee went ahead on a long run by Clary, who then turned the Dynamite defence inside out. Alberto Lopez capped the scoring with five minutes to play.

Landon Fuscalo supplied the lone goal as the Revelstoke Stallions blanked North Enderby Timber 1-0 on Marshall #2.

Fuscalo broke up the left wing, cut in towards the 18 and beat netminder Danny Stein to the right side.

Stallions’ keeper Jesse Anchikoski earned the shutout.

“It was a good, tight game, as expected,” said Revelstoke’s Surge Spitaro.

The Turn-Key Controls FC used a total team effort to ground host NOD Eagle Homes of Salmon Arm 3-1 Wednesday night at Little Mountain Field.

With 12 players, Turn-Key came out firing with Man of the Match Brendan Love curling a set piece into the far corner of the net to open the scoring.

Love then played a brilliant ball through to a streaking Conan Ackert, who captured his first goal for Turn-Key to complete the first-half scoring.

Early in the second half, Marco Arnold displayed great hustle on his first goal of the season, beating a defender to the outside and flicking the ball past the keeper.

Eagle Homes squeaked one by keeper Jeremy Kler midway through the half.

Turn-Key’s Carson Haywood-Farmer played an excellent match in the middle, making several strong challenges and slashing runs.

In other men’s league action, the Vernon Camels doubled Concept Physio 6-3 on Marshall #3.

The Camels started the match with three quick goals, taking advantage of the undermanned Concept side. New recruits Keenan Jesperson and Nathan Whitling provide much-needed possession and scoring, with Whitling putting two past the Concept keeper. Goals by Jonathan Pfaffenrot and Albert Goldnik seemed to put the game away before Concept narrowed the gap to 4-2 on an own-goal, followed by Enzo Paal capitalizing on a penalty kick.

Late second half goals by Derek Huisken and Spencer Bradbury ensured the win for the Camels.
