Clearwater Rotary Club held another successful fun golf tournament on Saturday, June 10. There were 30 golfers, all of which were local except for one team of four.
The out of town team was from Sunrise Ford in 100 Mile House who were also the ‘Hole in One’ sponsors. Unfortunately there were no winners of the three possible hole in one prizes (Ford F150, cruise trip and set of golf clubs).
All the golfers were great supporters of this main fundraiser for the local Rotary by golfing but also by bidding on the auction items and taking part in the fun games (Mulligan sales, putting competition and duck race).
The participants did manage to get through 18 holes of golf without any rain and the sun actually came out for a while after dinner, just as the ducks were making their mad dash to the pond.
All the golfers were big winners by having a great time and being part of the tournament. Everyone got a prize at the end, which were generously donated by local businesses, golf courses and individuals and by getting a fabulous dinner from Dawn and Mike Purdy, owners of Lacarya Golf and RV.
Ron Hadley was once again the MC and did a great job letting everyone know the rules and ensuring all got a prize at the end.
The Rotary club gives a big thank you to the 12 hole sponsors and to Helen Knight and Ann Bates for each donating one of their paintings for the silent auction.
In the end the golf tournament brought in just under $2,000 to help support the many local Rotary Club projects as well as the student exchange program.
The organizers appreciate everyone who participated and hope to see you again next year.
