Comets on fire in Surrey

Campbell River Comets athletes competed at the B.C. Championships last weekend

Four Campbell River Comets competed in the B.C. Junior Development Track and Field Championships held in Surrey July 25-27.

They all performed very well, despite the hot weather and highly competitive field of 9-13 year-olds from around the province.

Fergus Hall had a stellar meet.

He medaled in four events (Silver in the 300m, Bronze in the 200m, Bronze in Shot Put and Bronze in Discus) and received ribbons in the other three (sixth in the 80m Hurdles, seventh in 100m and Long Jump).

On top of that, he achieved personal bests in five of his seven events.

Trent Perras also medalled with a Bronze in the Javelin.

He received ribbons in his other two events, with a fifth in Discus and a seventh in Shot Put.

Julia Ashcroft had a great meet with a pair of seventh place ribbons in the 200m and 300m.

She also had personal best results in the Long Jump and 300m. Jessica Revoy also competed well, with a personal best throw in the Javelin of 12.42m and near PB’s in all her other events.
