Rugby is often known as a tough sport, but on Nov. 16, it’ll be known as fabulous with Amanda Luv presenting Valley Gurls – a Drag Show FUNdraiser supporting the Comox Valley Kickers Rugby Club.

The event is geared at offsetting costs for the men’s and women’s teams for the 2019 – 2020 season.

With varying expenses such as travel, equipment and field rental costs, the Kickers have enlisted the help of Vancouver Island’s best Queens, Victoria’s Sinder Star, Nanaimo’s Divine Intervention along with Comox Valley’s very own Amanda Luv.

“This is the first time our rugby club has organized a drag show. It is super exciting to have renowned Queens from across Vancouver Island coming to Cumberland,” said Kickers vice-president Jenn Lund. “We expect this night to be a big production with lights, music, costume changes, dancing and many laughs. Vancouver Island Brewing will also be doing a tap takeover with proceeds going back to the rugby club. With the support of the community, we are certain that this will be a successful fundraiser.”

The event, which will be held at the Cumberland Hotel, will also include a 50/50 draw, drink specials, food and a great atmosphere.

Get ready for an unforgettable evening supporting local rugby. We ask that every ticketholder brings a non-perishable food item for the Comox Valley Food Bank.

This event is already 75 per cent sold out. Tickets are $25, available at the Cumberland Hotel or by e-transferring cvkickersvicepresident@gmail.com for pickup at the event. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 10 p.m.
