Revelstoke amateur boxer Conner Null took first place in the 60 kg Cadet C category at the provincial Silver Glove Championships.
The competition held at the Prince George Roll-A-Dome over the weekend of March 19 and 20.
Null took the lightweight title in two matches, first defeating a boxer from Kelowna in a 5-0 unanimous decision, then stopping another in the first round of an exhibition match.
Revelstoke Boxing Club head coach Sam LeRose was thrilled with the outcome. “It was great. He boxed like he’d been doing it for years. He had no problems whatsoever,” he said.
The Silver Gloves competition is open to fighters who’ve had 10 or less bouts. The competition was part of Boxing B.C.’s Road to Glory series.
Null is scheduled to compete again on April 9 in Kamloops, and is progressing towards the open category.
LeRose was very proud of Null’s accomplishments at the tournament. “The kid did real well,” he said.
