Fifteen-year-old Ana Takasaki of Cordova Bay Golf Course shot an 82 and 77 for a total gross of 159, to take top spot at the Junior Girls Championships at Olympic View Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.

Takasaki shot six birdies over the course of the two days to hold off 13-year-old Akira Hyashi of Uplands Golf Course, who put on a strong showing with rounds of 86 and 83, scoring four birdies in her round on Sunday, giving her a total gross of 171.

Claremont secondary student Sarah Phipps shot two-round scores of 72 and 74 to earn the low-net trophy Phipps, a Grade 9 student with a 31 handicap, played two 18-hole stroke play rounds.

 

Hyashi (Uplands) and Cindy Koira (Glen Meadows) will represent Zone 5 at the B.C. Summer Games.
