Courtenay golfer Abigail Rigsby shot a two-under-par 70 to lead the field on opening day of the Northeastern State Women’s Classic, Monday in Tahlequah, Okla.
The junior from Oklahoma Christianwas coming off her first collegiate win last March when she suffered an injury that cut her season short. She spent the summer rehabilitating that injury and opened her fall season with three birdies in her first five holes on the 5,964-yard course. She made it to four-under through 12 holes before a couple of bogeys coming down the stretch.
But in the second round, Rigsby shot 83 to finish in a tie for 17th.
