The Courtenay Whalers women’s hockey team is gearing up for another fun season of weekly games against upper Island opposition, and tournaments.

The Whalers were created in 2008 by a group of women who wanted to organize a hockey environment to practice skills, compete in game situations, stay fit, make new friends and most of all have fun.

The team is open to players of all ages and skill levels. There are a few different registration options, so there is a playing level for everyone.

The team is holding a registration session at Roy’s Towne Pub in Royston on Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 7-8:30 p.m.

Their first ice slot of the season is Friday, Sept. 7 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the CV Sports Centre, rink #1. Players must be registered prior to the first skate.
