Three members of the Williams Lake Cowboy Action Shooters, the Chilcotin Range Riders, competed in a match in Prince George during the weekend.

Dusty Newman, who goes by the Cowboy Action Shooting name of Dusty Jean, Annaka Westwick, aka Annie the Hammer and Kelly Bennett, aka Doc Nowlin, all participated.

Dusty and Annaka, new to the sport, faired well, with Dusty bringing home second place in the ladies cowgirl class and Annaka taking first in the ladies duelist class.

Nowlin shot in the men’s duelist class, but didn’t place.

“The weather was a little cool, but it didn’t cool the spirits of all the shooters,” Bennett said.

Cowboy Action Shooting combines shooting revolvers, rifles and shotguns while participants play out a wild west storyline.
