It was a different team that gathered in Kitimat last weekend.
It was the tail end of the season and not only were the ‘Roos winding down, but some were done and so a smaller, weaker ‘Roos found themselves facing teams that were still intent on winning.
The scores point out this discrepancy all too well.
In their final game, against the Williams Lake Stampeders, who would go on to win the tournament, the ‘Roos fell 7-1.
It wasn’t the only team they lost to by such a margin. Both Terrace and Kitimat likewise beat the ‘Roos, the former 8-1, the latter 8-3.
It’s not all bad news though, as one of Quesnel’s own will be awarded some very big trophies from the CIHL this weekend.
