Brad Cramer scored once and set up another as the Printech Prowlers grounded the the Subway Whites 3-1 in Under 13 boys youth soccer play.
Willem Gibson took a fantastic goal kick from Cramer, who was keeper at the time, dribbled past three defenders on the left side before burying the ball far side.
The second Prowler goal was a result of some hard work at midfield by Conner Seehaver, who made a great open-field tackle and deftly put a through ball to Caleb James, who converted.
Printech added insurance when midfielders Rory Campbell and Jackson Buller fed Cramer, now at forward. Cramer buried a 20-yard cracker .
The Printech Blue Steel shaded the Italian Kitchen 2-1 in other U13 action.
The Italian Kitchen scored first but Kristian Hovdebo answered for the Blue Steel. Zach Manthorne supplied the winner from a rebound off a free kick.
In U13 girls play, the Gold Bristow Celtics shut down the Whites 1-0. Grace An scored for the Golden girls with a beautiful cross behind some defenders.
Forwards Jennika Helme and Jenna Chirkoff went hard to the net all game, while Joelle Smid and Lauren Rollier were tireless in midfield.
With a shortage of players, defenders Rachel Richter and Lisa DeBeer stayed on the whole game and were a strong force in front of keeper Katelyn Holm.
The NOU Kickers bowed 3-2 to All-Pro Tree & Landscape in U18 girls play.
It was a two-goal night for Mairead Raupach, who netted her first after a gorgeous free kick cross from defender Mara McLaughlin went to Hannah Taylor at the far post, and then to Raupach.
The NOU second goal came off a corner from Erin Delaney to the waiting feet of Raupach.
The superb back line of Avery Schneider, Kyla Gauthier, Desiree Gosselin and Mara McLaughlin were bold in front of keeper Sarah Mugridge.
The Blue Ice Breakers’ depleted lineup from last week was re-enforced Saturday with the return of four key players in a 2-0 U13 girls loss to the Reds.
Jessica Grages displayed great techique receiving and sharing the ball, and was all over the field providing smart coverage for her Ice Breaker teammates. Ashley Wadsworth hustled on defence and later in the half, when she moved up to the forward position, swarmed the net and had a great scoring chance.
Alexandra Miller and Kate Lowe both had outstanding games. Miller made several steals.
