Creston Valley Slo-pitch Association starting new season

Creston Valley Slo-pitch Association is again organizing for 2016 season...

With the sun shining and the grass greening up, all minds turn to the outdoors. What better recreation can you find than slo-pitch baseball? The Creston Valley Slo-pitch Association is again organizing for this year’s season.

Last year, 19 teams played in three divisions, ending in a double knockout tournament the first weekend in July, after 12 regular season games played throughout May and June. Teams consist of at least 10 players (three must be female) with rosters totalling anything above that. The League charges $450, which covers diamond rentals, insurance, balls and score books. New teams usually find sponsors to cover start-up costs for equipment and uniforms.

It’s fun, social recreation. The three divisions are rated for their abilities with C being the most sought after division, with most teams being there for fun. The B division is competitively higher, with A being the most competitive.

For more information, contact Jim Ryckman at 250-428-2369 or Len Ringstad at 250-428-4145. The Coffin Dodgers practice at 1:30 p.m. Sundays at Centennial Park; anyone over the age of 50 can sign up for those teams.
