Cross country ski club gearing up for upcoming season

It's time to start thinking about dusting off the skis for the upcoming cross country skiing season.

As summer turns to fall, it’s time to start thinking about dusting off the skis for the upcoming cross country skiing season.

The Williams Lake Cross Country Ski Club is welcoming new members to its facility at Bull Mountain and will be on site at Kal Tire in the lakecity this coming Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. accepting membership registration.

The WLCCSC has partnered with Kal Tire, who recently made a generous donation to the ski area’s Bunny Rabbit and Jackrabbit programs, and will have board members, coaches and Jackrabbits members on site at the event.

Refreshments will be available by donation to the Jackrabbits club, while anyone who purchases a membership on or before the WLCCSC’s open house on Nov. 24 will be eligible for a ski package draw.

An adult membership will be available for the WLCCSC for $100.

“This is an opportunity to ski for free with $100 coupon towards new tires,” said Lisa Young of the WLCCSC, noting anyone who purchases a 2018/19 cross country ski club membership will receive a coupon for $100 off a set of four winter tires.

“Our club is also part of a larger Cross Country BC membership drive. We took a big hit in memberships last year with a late start and trails recovering from being used as fire guards.”
