The Comox Valley Curling Club has a program to teach youngsters how to play the game.

With the help of a grant from ViaSport and the Province of B.C., the Comox Valley Curling Club has put together a new program for school-aged kids (Grades 3-5).

The grant has allowed the club to purchase equipment for the Junior Learn to Curl program. The program runs for four one-hour sessions. The kids will go from learning the basics to  playing a shortened game (four ends).

“The excitement shown by the kids and their teachers is energizing!” a program spokesperson said. The Comox Valley Curling Club plans to continue this program in the future.

The instructors are all dedicated volunteers who are encouraging these youngsters in their learning of a new sport.
