CURLING: Surrey school teams play at B.C. championships in North Delta

NORTH DELTA — Some of the province’s best teen curlers will hit the ice at Delta Thistle Curling Club in two weeks.

The rink, at the newly renovated North Delta Recreation Centre, will host the 2016 BC Secondary School Curling Provincial Championships (Bcsscurling.wix.com/2016) from March 3 to 5.

The tournament will involve eight girls teams and eight boys teams from zones around the province.

Zone 3 will be represented by Surrey-based school teams from Lord Tweedsmuir (boys, with Rhett Hildenbrandt, Dylan Braun, Jared Rawlings and Kevin Wilkins) and Elgin Park (girls, Sarah Loken, Kalle Keptuck, Carly Green, Natasha Sharma and Sukhman Kandola).

The event’s awards banquet will be held Saturday, March 5 at Seaquam Secondary.
