Curling teens head to Toronto

Team Tardi is representing B.C. this weekend at the Optimist International U-18 Curling Championships in Toronto.

Skip and Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary student Tyler Tardi will lead the team, which won the gold medal at last month’s B.C. Winter Games in Vernon.

Other members of the team are third Jordan Tardi, also of Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary, second Nicholas Meister, and lead Zachary Umbach. Paul Tardi is the coach.

They play out of the Langley Curling Club.

A dozen teams will be competing in the men’s division, including seven representing Canadian provinces, one rink from Japan, as well as one each from Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Washington.

The tournament takes place April 4-8 at the St. George’s Golf and Country Club and the Dixie Curling Club.
